DOG BOARDING
We are more than a “daycare approved only” facility. As fellow dog owners, we understand there are dog friendly dogs, dog reactive dogs, intact dogs, or even human reactive dogs. Therefore, whatever your situation may be with your four-legged best friend, we are here for your every boarding need while still providing superior care. We proudly accommodate and service K-9 Officers in the surrounding cities.
All of our boarding guests will remain separate from one another unless you request your dog to be tested for group play (AKA doggie daycare). Our boarding facility looks as if you are strolling through the town of Hastings. Your dog will be relaxed and feel more at home with our facility-wide music system and advanced climate-controlled cage-less suites. Our luxurious 2 room suites are 100 square feet with separate sleeping, exercise, and potty areas.
There is no shortage of walking, running, and exploration at our resort as we have 2 large outdoor play areas with more than 15,000 square feet and 2 indoor play areas with more than 5,000 square feet for those days when the weather is uncooperative (fitted with gymnasium-style 3/8” rubber flooring for safety and joint-friendly play).
Each boarding guest is hand-walked outside on our spacious grounds or can also roam off-leash in one of our 3 fenced outdoor potty areas. Optional one-on-one or group play is also available.

DOG BOARDING PRICING
Includes exercise. Every 20th day free with Rio Rewards!
Families with multiple pets get an additional $2 per pet per day discount on all boarding stays.
CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT
Check In:
Monday-Saturday: 7:00 am-5:45 pm
Sunday: 4:00 pm – 5:45 pm
Check Out – Monday-Saturday:
Check out by 11:45 am and you do not pay for that day.
Later check out: Check out between noon and 5:45 pm and that day’s charge is applied.
Check Out – Sunday:
On Sundays, we are open 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, so Sunday pickups are always charged for that day.
*On major holidays (New Years’ Day, Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas), we are closed for check-in and check-out, but fully staffed to care for your pet. Additionally, there is an extra $5 per day boarding fee for the day before, on, and the day after major holidays.
WHAT TO BRING
We provide Kuranda cot-style beds, blankets, stainless steel food an water bowls (slow feeder bowls are available upon request), and of course TLC while your pet is in our care.
Food
Bring your pet’s food. We do not require you to individually bag meals. Raw food or other food that requires refrigeration/freezing is no problem!
Other
Treats, bones, hard toys, and any medications or supplements.
Please leave at home
Please do not bring any rawhides, bully sticks, or stuffed animals. These items pose a choking/obstruction hazard and will not be given without supervision.
Cleanliness is our obsession!
You won’t find a “stinky” dog kennel at Rio Gran. Our cleaning agents are specially formulated to kill the harmful bacteria and pathogens typically found in hospitals and kennels. Our neutral base cleaners sanitize but will not harm your pet’s eyes, feet, and skin.

GERIATRIC SUITES
We understand that as our companions get older or they experience greater anxiety, they may require additional care while boarding. We now offer suites specifically designed for geriatric dogs and those who might easily become overwhelmed in a large boarding environment. These suites are equipped with joint-friendly rubber flooring for extra support and grip and are located in a quiet area in our facility which maintains a low-stress environment.
